Violet Maureen Bjorkman

Violet (Vi) Maureen Neese Bjorkman passed away on August 9, 2011 after a brief illness. Vi was born on August 18, 1929 to Maude and A. N. (Bill) Neese in Los Angeles, California. She lived most of her life in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School. She married Jess Bjorkman on August 7, 1948. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. She worked for over 20 years for First Security and Wells Fargo Banks. She was an avid bowler and served on the National Board of the Women's International Bowling Congress for many years, receiving multiple awards for her service. Her greatest joy in life was her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, June; and brother, Jack. She is survived by her husband, Jess; sons, David (Kaye) and Paul; two grandsons, James and Michael; and twin great-granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay 26th Ward chapel, 4601 South Chapel Street (2565 East).
