Together Again

Virginia Ruth Nielsen Hardy passed peacefully into eternity at Beehive Homes Care on a beautiful Sunday morning, Aug. 24, 2014. Virginia was one month short of her 100th birthday. Born Sept. 24, 1914 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Niels C. Nielsen and Stella Brighton. Married Harold George Hardy in the Salt Lake Temple Oct. 2, 1933. Our mom worked hard all her life, early years as seamstress making draperies and later managing the bakery for Dan's Market. She attended West High where she was class vice president. Always a faithful member of the L.D.S. Church, serving missions in Nauvoo, Ill. and Washington D.C. Temple. Served 30 years in the Salt Lake Temple. Survived by four children: Harold G. Jr., Larry (Dixie), Janice Ellis (Robert), Jeanne Jewkes (Larry). She has 20 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and grandson, Matthew Jewkes.

Services will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Garden Heights Ward, 2220 E. Fisher Lane (2935 South), where friends and family can visit 10:00 to 11:30 am prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Messages to the family can be posted at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
