Norman "Wade" Gayler left this world to be with his Daddy, our Lord and Savior, on September 25, 2024. He was born on March 15th, 1966 to Norman Wallace Gayler Jr and Betty Kay Anderson Gayler.
Wade's love for his family was immense, through both the good and tough times. He loved camping with family and friends. The best times were around fire pits, where priceless stories and memories were shared and never forgotten. Several of us were able to spend time with him this summer doing just that.
It was camping at Deer Creek where God clearly told him to move home and he went back to Idaho, sold his business, packed up, and moved home. God had a plan. It turned out it wasn't what we thought the plan would be, but as Wade reminded us, it was God's plan. God's plan turned out to be more of a blessing as Wade's suffering was minimal and he was with us during his last days.
Wade was a man of many talents just like our dad. Over the years he was a truck driver and worked in many areas of construction. He built his own business remodeling and building amazing homes. He remodeled hotels, and custom kitchens designed with cabinets built in his shop. He worked on cars, boats, motorcycles, and more - if it needed to be fixed he could fix it.
Wade's faith in God and Jesus as his savior was inspiring to all of us. When the time was close Wade was at peace, knowing that Jesus was just on the other side of the river, waiting to take his hand.
He had a heart for people and a passion for those suffering. He spent many years working with SBC Disaster Relief, Red Cross, Building Hope, Baptist Builders, and other organizations that helped people who were suffering through circumstances beyond their control. His son Norm Jr. has shared “If you know him, you've most certainly heard him say "living the dream" or "just another day in paradise!" I never truly understood why he said it so much but now that I'm older I realize every day for him was a gift from God. He's lived a great life, with lots of ups and downs! He turned all of the down days he had as a younger man into positivity by helping those who needed help the most!”
He leaves behind so many who admired and loved him deeply.
His son Norman Wade Gayler Jr and his fiancée Courtney, his precious grandchild Lucy Nova, his bonus grandchild Hailey, his mother Betty Kay Gayler and siblings Norma Fox (Steve), Pamela Gayler, and Todd Gayler (Shelly), several generations of nieces and nephews, his former wife and friend Laura Gayler and his sweet friend Denise Ard who cared for him in Idaho, before returning home to be near family, as he fought his battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father Norman Wallace Gayler Jr., a brother Tab Gayler, and three nephews.
