Wanda Burkinshaw Crawford

On April 20th 2012 Wanda Burkinshaw Crawford, surrounded by her family passed from mortality to re-join her brothers and sisters in heaven. She lived a wonderful life for 84 years. Wanda was born Jan 10th 1928 in Sandy Utah to Albert and Flossie Ferguson Burkinshaw. She married Don W. Crawford after he returned from service in the Marines on Nov 7th 1947 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Married almost 65 years, Wanda's priority in life was her husband Don, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wanda loved to needlepoint and made each child a Christmas stocking that is treasured by all.

Wanda was a loving, compassionate wife and mother. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always happy and positive and never complained. Wanda worked in the banking industry for Valley Bank where she formed many lifelong friendships. She was a very social person and enjoyed being a member of the Cottonwood Club for 52 years where she served as President of the Ladies Association in the 70's.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Don, her two children; Kent (Farah) and Jeanette (Lynn), and her 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Lamar, Glen, and Jay, and her sisters Marie and Loris. We express thanks to Carlos, Lucy and Farah for their compassionate care given to mom in her last few months.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Cottonwood 7th Ward, 5565 South Neighbor Lane (1610 East) . Family and friends may visit from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to services at the church. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens. Tributes may be sent to the family at www.holbrookmortuary.com.
