Wendy Burgess Erekson

Wendy Burgess Erekson passed away peacefully at her home on June 12, 2026, at the age of 66.

Wendy was born on August 26, 1959, to her mother, Bonnie, and was raised alongside her older brother, Steven. In her youth, she was lovingly adopted by Floyd, who became an important part of her life.

Wendy had a remarkable gift for gardening and could make just about anything grow. Her green thumb reflected her nurturing spirit and love for life. She found great joy in the outdoors, spending time with family, and preserving the fruits of her labor through bottling and canning the produce she grew in her garden.

One of Wendy’s greatest qualities was her ability to connect with people. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Her caring nature made others feel welcome, and she was always willing to be a mother figure to those who needed one.

Wendy is lovingly survived by her daughter, Katie (Brandon); her granddaughters, Taylor (Austin), and Ashlin (Braydon); and her two treasured great-granddaughters, whom she adored and could never get enough of. She is also survived by her brother, Steven (Judy), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and those she lovingly considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Floyd; her husband, Darrel; and her eldest daughter, Kenna.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
