Wilford Paul Schrader, 85, passed away on November 27, 2023, in Bountiful, Utah. He was born to Wilford Henry Schrader and Gertrue Salisbury on April 16, 1938. He married Patricia White on September 21, 1959, they later divorced.
Wilford grew up in Bountiful and spent his childhood playing in the foothills of the Bountiful mountains. He worked for Wilford Wood in his early teen years and would recount stories of his days working the Wood Land.
He graduated from Davis High School and then joined the Utah Air National Guard in 1956 and later transferred to the Active-Duty Air Force in 1957. Following the Air Force, he later joined the Utah Army National Guard where he worked as both a full-time Communications/Radio Repairman as well as a part-time “weekend warrior” for the Guard. He achieved the rank of MSgt. Wilford was very proud of his military service and spent almost 27 years in the service of his country.
He enjoyed the out of doors and loved to go on the yearly camping trips with his family. He also loved to fish and continued to fish with his ex-father in-law until he passed away.
He enjoyed working in his yard and kept an immaculate yard. His yard was always beautiful with lilacs, snowballs, roses and a wide variety of flowers. As his neighbors aged, he voluntarily became the neighborhood snowblower. Cleaning off the driveways and sidewalks for all of his neighbors.
Wilford was always there to help out anyone who needed it, even if they didn’t get along. He was generous with his time and money for those in need. He was a great father and teacher to all who knew him.
He is survived by son Mark A. Schrader, daughter Shelley A. Schrader, son-in-law Trevor J. Law, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister Janet (Lurlen) Knight, brother Donald (Lois) Schrader, brother Dwain (Vangie) Schrader.
He is preceded in death by daughter Shanna R. Law, mother and father Wilford H. Schrader and Gertrue Salisbury, brother Darrel Schrader and best friend throughout his life Patricia Arnoldus.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 12:00 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 610 N Rowland Way, Centerville, Utah. A Viewing will begin at 11:00 AM at the church.
Interment will be at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
