Wilford Woodruff Stagg, our beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2010.

Bill was born April 17, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Hannah Kirton and Charles Henry Stagg. He married Helen Porath on July 5, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, January 18, 1945.

Bill was a veteran of World War II and fought for the freedoms that we all enjoy today. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years of service, as an accomplished metallurgist, manager, and supervisor. Throughout his life he loved hunting, fishing and camping, and most of all teaching his family to love the outdoors. His other passions were luxury cars, golfing, and dancing with Mom. He will be missed by all his family as well as his faithful dog, Ginger.

Bill is survived by his children, Wilford (Suzanne) Stagg, Kenneth (Debbie) Stagg, Craig (Paulette) Stagg, Barbara (Bud) Poduska, and Carol Lauritzen; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and 1 brother.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, where friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
