Willem Benjamin Jansen, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle died peacefully on Sept. 6th 2011 surrounded by his loved ones. Willem (Bill) was born on Dec. 25, 1924 in Arnhem, Holland to Gerritje W. Phillippens and Willem Jansen.

He married Martha VanVossen on Dec. 21, 1950. They spent their honeymoon on a ship coming to America to start a new life together. Bill served in the Royal Netherland Army as a Military Police Officer during WWII. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, dancing and spending his retirement time with friends at the Sports Mall.

He is survived by his wife Martha; daughters Nelly (Mike) Foster, Jeanette Lietz; grandchildren Amber Lietz, Derek Foster and Shanene (Mike) Montierth. He is preceded in death by his sisters Rebecca Rietveld, Suzanna Van Grol, Corry Casey, and Marianne Stone.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive. Friends can visit with the family at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
