William Mask Bogart passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the age of 91 years and joined his beloved wife Barb who had passed in 2008. William was born in 1920 to George and Elizabeth Frazer Bogart of Wilmington, Delaware.
Bill grew up in Richardson Park, Delaware. He graduated from Conrad High School and went on to graduate from the University of Delaware in 1942 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Plumline, on 7/8/1943, and they settled in Salt Lake City, UT in 1958. He worked for Hercules, Inc. for 42 years until his retirement. As a true rocket scientist, he was very proud of his contributions to solid-fuel rocket motor design. He was very active in the outdoors camping, hunting, fishing, skiing and rock hounding. He was active and living independently until about a week before his heart failed.
He and Barb raised 4 sons, Steve, Mike, Dave and Jeff who will greatly miss him. He was a great dad and teacher.
He is survived by his sons, 5 grandchildren, sister Alice Emily Burke, sister-in-laws Betty Bogart and Florence Plumline.
There will be no funeral.
