William Daniels passed away peacefully at home with his family Friday, July 10, 2009. He was born May 29, 1919, in Shoshone, Idaho, to Mary Berdensey and John Daniels. He married Meta Elisabeth Spiess on July 25, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Bill served in the Pacific in the U.S. Navy during WWII & was wounded in combat aboard the USS Tryon. After military service, he then worked for, & retired from, the US Postal Service. Bill loved working in his garden, fishing, golfing, camping, & loved tinkering in his workshop.
William is survived by his wife; children, Julie (Juergen) Muthreich, Sheryle (Dale) Jager, Carl Daniels, sister, Darlene Orgill, & brother, Gene Daniels; seven grandchildren; and five & one-half great-grandchildren, as well as his little dog, Fritzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers & one sister.
The family wishes to thank the Millcreek Home Healthcare staff with special thanks to Dee, Kathy, Eddie, Heather, & Kirstin for all their care & kindness through this difficult time, as well as many friends & neighbors who were always willing to help.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends and family can visit from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
