William Earl Evans

William Earl Evans, 83, of Taylorsville, Utah, passed away on 07/27/2026.

“

He found joy in the outdoors — especially fishing, camping, and hunting — along with music, classic cars, and passing along what he knew to the people he loved.

He was born on November 29, 1942, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Elmer Earl Evans and Lavon Olsen Evans, and spent most of his life between Idaho and Utah.

William worked as an electrician for several companies, and was known for his ability to weld, fix cars, and — given enough time — figure out just about anything. He married Esperanza Flores Evans on March 25th 1972, and the two shared more than fifty years of marriage together. They also proudly were married and sealed to each other in the LDS temple on January 17th 2008.

A quiet and steady man, William was deeply respected for his intelligence, his wit, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He found joy in the outdoors — especially fishing, camping, and hunting — along with music, classic cars, and passing along what he knew to the people he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Esperanza Flores Evans; his son, William Earl Evans Jr.; his granddaughter, Sasha Evans; and his sister, Trudie Preuer, her husband Detlef Preuer and his brother in-law Doyle Dekay, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Earl Evans and Lavon Olsen Evans, and his sister, Ruth DeKay.

The services will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84084, on Tuesday, August 4th, at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing beforehand at 9:00 am.
