William (Bill) Haynes Finch passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Salt Lake City. He was born May 21, 1935, in El Paso, Texas to Haynes C.and Edith Ann (Armstrong) Finch. He married Ruth Graham, later divorced. He married Geraldine (Geri) Jensen June 16, 1979 and later they were sealed for time and all eternity.
Bill enjoyed playing the saxophone for family and friends. He loved traveling with his wife Geri in their trailer making lots of fun memories at the family cabin in Wanship, Utah, East Canyon, Utah, and snow birding to Yuma, Arizona taking many trips within the United States and Internationally as well. Bill and Geri enjoyed sqaure dancing for many years. They deeply loved each other and were always holding hands when together. His career started as a mover for his father-in-law at C. R. Graham and Sons. He could fill every inch of a trailer like a puzzle and was very handy as his kids and friends moved. He worked for Walgreen Drug Stores for twenty plus years, opening stores in Northern California and Utah. He ended his work career as a salesman for a food brokerage company. Bill was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed serving others, working with Geri in the church cannery and soliciting fruits and candy donations from businesses to give out to children during the holidays.
Bill is survived by his wife Geri, Children, Kathleen Blackburn (Dan), Michael (Leisa), Hunter (Nori Huntsman), stepdaughters, Rhonda Savoy (John), Vicki Koontz (Doug), Linda Crane (Rick), Tresa Cook (Glenn – deceased). 20 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Edith Ann Dickenson.
A Funeral Service will be held, Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah [google.com] at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the services with interment at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah [google.com].
