William K. Hagen

December 11, 1939 — August 11, 2025

William (Bill) K. Hagen, age 85, of Taylorsville, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2025, following an extended illness. He was lovingly cared for by his devoted wife, Joann, who remained by his side until the very end.

Born on December 11, 1939, to Walter and LeVon Hagen, Bill lived a full and vibrant life marked by deep devotion to family, enduring friendships, and a remarkable ability to connect with others. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence was larger than life.

Bill married Kathy Christensen, and together they had two children. He later married Beverly and adopted Bryan. Eventually, he found lasting companionship with Joann.

He is survived by his wife Joann; children Diana (Brad) Clinch of Spokane, Washington; Todd (Connie) Hagen of Sandy, Utah; and Bryan Hagen of Portland, Oregon; as well as Joann's children, Stephanie Marble and Terry Marble. Bill was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Black and brother, Robert (Skip) Hagen. He was preceded in death by siblings Ray Hagen, James Hagen, Linda Hagen, and Ron Hagen, and by his grandson Taylor Hagen.

Bill served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Illinois and remained a semi-active member throughout his life. Professionally, he was a gifted and successful salesman, spending the majority of his career with Kirby Vacuum. Known for his charisma and persuasive charm, Bill could sell ice cream in the middle of winger and always left people feeling like they got the best deal.

A lifelong learner, Bill had a deep love for biographies, history, and geography, often challenging others with trivia and thoughtful discussions. In the 1990s, he discovered a passion for Kenpo Karate and transformed his basement into a dojo, welcoming students of all ages for weekend training sessions. He generously donated gear and uniforms to his favorite students and wore out countless punching bags and gloves in the process.
