William Jackson “Pops” Chester

William Chester age 89, Sandy, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 8, 2022.
He was born on October 8, 1933 in Jefferson, Georgia to Willie Dean and Sally Chester. He grew up in Forest Park, Georgia; graduated from Forest Park High School in 1950 and attended Greenleaf Business School and Georgia State University, graduating in 1961.
While in business school, he met the love of his life, Bettye Cohron, they were married for 56 years and she preceded him in death.
William was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved his family dearly. He was a true Christian man who served in the Baptist Church.
He was a veteran and served in the army and was in Korea during war.
William is preceded in death by his parents, sister  Alma Glibert, wife, and his son Stan.
He is survived by his daughter Sandra (Richard) Krok Sandy, Utah; his sister Dot Lacey Fayetteville, Georgia; four granddaughters; and eight great grand children.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 19, 2022 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery 3115 East 7800 South Bengal Blvd Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family may visit from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. An Internment will be set to follow the funeral services at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery.
