Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on April 14, 2016 at Grace Assisted Living in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Bill was born in Six Mile Run, Pennsylvania to William Albert Long and Sarah Eliza Donaldson on November 15, 1927. Bill graduated from high school with 11 students in his class. He worked as a coal miner to put himself through college, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from Juniata College.
On July 29, 1956, Bill married the love of his life, Betty Louise Weierick Long of Tyrone, Pennsylvania in the Methodist Church in Tyrone. Bill and Betty lived in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and then Cumberland, Maryland until 1965. Bill is a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Army. Bill and Betty were involved in the Christ United Methodist Church's organization of interfaith hospitality (now family promise) in Utah. Bill and Betty also organized and served meals at the Salvation Army for many years.
Betty and Bill loved to travel and spend quality time together; they renewed their vows in 2000 on the Delta Queen Cruise Line during one of their many voyages. Bill was sealed to Betty in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 14, 2012. Bill loves his wife Betty and will be with her eternally.
