"I'll Be Loving You Always"

Wylene Hunter Fotheringham passed away on April 28, 2009 at the age of 86. She was born October 19, 1922 in Mesa, Arizona to Walter Wahn and Verna Hall Hunter. She married William Howard Fotheringham on November 22, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are parents to four children: Shanna Fekete, Bonny (Larry) Duffin, Brent, and Michelle; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. She graduated from South High School and LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She filled a mission in Northern California during WW II where she served as secretary to the mission president. Always faithful in her testimony, she served in leadership positions in Primary, MIA and Relief Society in the LDS Church. She was a member of the Church Writing Committee for Gospel Doctrine lessons and served as a member of the Relief Society General Board for 5 years. She compiled the history of the Valley View Stake. She served her community in leadership roles in the PTA, as a volunteer for the Girl's Detention Home, and as a member of the Days of '47 Committee where she wrote the Queen's coronation song in 1959. She wrote and produced many skits, plays, roadshows, and poetry. For over 40 years she wrote a Christmas poem which she sent to hundreds of family members and friends. Her best loved writings were to her children and family. She was an inspiring speaker and was often called on to speak at various functions. Her greatest love, next to her Savior, was her "war-hero husband" and p-38 pilot, Howard. Her main interests were her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She gave particular service to her father and mother in their declining years. She was especially excited at the birth of her great-grandchildren. She loved people, and friends were of utmost importance to her. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elvan and Walton, and sister, Renee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay 2nd Ward, 4568 South Holladay Blvd (2100 East).
