Xan Elizabeth Endo-Masuda

April 26, 1943 — September 27, 2022

1943 – 2022
Salt Lake City, UT – Xan Elizabeth Endo-Masuda, our loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 27, 2022. She was born on April 26, 1943 in Murray, UT, to Frank and Yoshiko Endo, and married Walter Masuda on July 26, 1980.
Xan graduated from the University of Utah with her Bachelor’s degree in education and taught elementary students for over 30 years in Salt Lake City. She had a true passion for teaching and loved seeing her students succeed in and out of the classroom.
Xan was kind, caring, selfless and had the biggest heart. She truly loved spending time with her husband and four children. Xan also enjoyed taking care of her garden and loved shopping – it wouldn’t be unusual for her and her daughters to be out searching for treats, treasures and great deals the entire weekend. You could always spot her with her sharp colored clothing and wide assortment of noticeable jewelry. She also had an affinity and love for animals, having rescued several cats and dogs from the shelter. In her retirement years, Xan loved spending time with her grandkids and also thoroughly enjoyed cheering on the Utah Jazz.
Xan is survived by her four children: Courtney, Brandt, Andrew (Lauren), and Paige (Josh); four grandchildren: Asher, Ryleigh, Izabelle, and Reese; siblings: Alice (Mel) and Tom; nieces: Kimiko (Garth) and Tamara; and nephews: Bart, Quinn, Keith (Tiffany) and Adam (Aiko). She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Yoshiko, and husband, Walter.
Private family services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
